EVERY MOMENT COUNTS
Look away! Don’t make any eye contact. Roll up your window as you pass by without a glance. The homeless makes us uncomfortable don’t they? Our discomfort magnifies even more when they appear with sign boards with eyes looking to us for help. Who are they? What happened? How did they get to this very hopeless place in their lives?
The homeless are children, mothers, grandparents, uncle, aunts, fathers, sons and daughters. They are veterans, retirees, and former employees and inmates. And while some have undoubtedly made very poor choices that have resulted in their plight, most have arrived here after a run of circumstances outside their control. Regardless of how they got here, each one desperately needs our help to escape the cycle of poverty and homelessness. We are championing the cause for the homeless and bringing the Syracuse community together to end homelessness within our city. Will you help?
